Just one more thing

This is what I worked on today. It features Bella from Paper Imagery Designs and Marshall. Do you think she's dreaming of the older kid she has a crush on?

The base is a page from the chipboard House Book Kit from Small Studio Productions along with the little house trinket, vintage tape measure, Tim's Idea-ology pieces and vintage brown and white stripey twine.

The papers are Graphic 45. I LOVE them....have I said that before?

A bit of Grungeboard, Maya Road buttons,Distress Ink, and a Studio 490
stamp!

AND - For a real treat, go visit Suze's blog!!! She took some fantastic pictures of CHA. You don't want to miss these!

The Shrine from Small Studio Productions

I tried to get some pictures of the Shrine from Small Studio Productions today. Mother Nature is not cooperating much....no sun...but the snow on the ground seemed to help reflect some light! The clock, Tim's Game Spinners and Brads are from SSP, too. The butterfly is a piece of Tim's Grungeboard...of course.

This is the front. The shrine is painted black with acrylic paint and the papers from Graphic 45 are added before it's glued together. Every piece is inked with Distress Inks to add the depth and warmth. That's just my opinion.

This is the inside of the shrine....just papers, inks, and glue. I LOVE these papers!!!!!!!!!!

And the back. More papers, ink and glue. These papers stand alone in beauty and need nothing more to create something memorable.

Let me know what you think!!!!

Small Studio Productions Collage

Here is the 1st collage from Small Studio Productions!!!! Can you spot her wonderful things????

It started with the black 3 hole cubbie...sooooooo easy to put together, and you get 2 in a pack! Then the bird is too cute! Cover him with paper, stamp, add a picture and ta-da! LOVE IT!

The numbers, black leaf ribbon and the large chipboard house are from SSP. The house is one of 7 in the 7Gypsies Home Sweet Home pack.

THEN....we had to have some vintage pictures!!! So the Paper Imagery Designs little ones are here, too!!! Delightful!!! Three are behind Fragments and the little guy in the bird is not.

AND PID is taking Pre-Orders for Tim Holtz's NEW STUFF on the blog!!!! Yes.....go take a look, and a discount, too! MY ORDER IS IN!

There are many more things too numerous to name, but you know you can ask if you're curious!

UPDATE: The metal behind the children is tape run through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder and several colors of alcohol inks are added...and sanded...and added...and sanded...till you get what you like! Simple as that! (It's a sickness...)

More TSS Metal Plus Jewels!

I don't mean to belabor the point here, but I wanted you to see what a few rhinestones, a Dew Drop, and a couple of copper beads will do for these pieces. I used a new border embossing folder I bought today on the back slider tin!

Cool, huh?

And this little gem was made with one of the Formal Squares embossing folders! I LOVE IT! But it is late, and you should never take pictures at night ~very vintage looking don't you think? The background is some more Perfect Pearls with Re-Inkers sprayed on paper and the Numbers EF.

Inauguration Day Parade-Making History

My fellow Americans and Citizens of the World!!! Today I have to tell you how proud I am of the blond kid in the grey T-shirt, behind the guy in the blue hat. That's my son, Jeff Neavor, the Morton Illinois HS Band director. His band of 120 students was chosen out of over 1300 applicants to march Tuesday at the Inauguration Parade for our 44th President Barack Obama!
~
They will play around 3 or so right behind the Coast Guard Band. There are bands from each military group CG and Merchant Marines leading 6 divisions. They are in the 5th division.

They have raised all the money they needed, $60,000, to attend. The community really stepped up and backed these talented kids!
~

It's going to be a long and cold day....but they will never forget being there in the midst of history. And the really wonderful thing is I think they all "really get it." It is not lost on these kids at the importance of standing together, helping each other, pulling up your bootstraps and getting the job done.

Because they've done it so many times before. Great job, Jeff and Crew! Bring it on home-with style!!

Scrapbook Friend'z Class

I had hoped to load this earlier, but I had to have surgery on my right thumb yesterday...not pretty! So I decided to rest a bit!

Here are some of the new pins and slider tin necklaces for the Friendz Freeze in February. My class is with the Ten Seconds Studio metal and molds on February 22nd from 1:30 to 4. Be there or Be Square...as they used to say!

Michelle, my DD and I made some up after we got back from Chicago. Bet you can't tell which one is hers...and she had never touched TSS metal before!

I used the metal brush tool on 2 for a different effect. Like it?

The slider tin will have a ball chain to make it a necklace...haven't gotten them picked up yet due to the 5 inches of snow!!! This one is with the Chocolate Brown, but we will probably do Rock Star Black with the black ball chain. Unless I hear that you like the brown better!!!!

Margaret will have the new colors in and lots of molds for you to choose from. Remember this stuff is WONDERFUL run through the Cuttlebug with the embossing folders, too! One is done with that.

Another bit of EXCITING NEWS! Ginny from Small Studio Productions has asked me to design some things from her terrific line of products. She has wonderful things that you won't find anywhere else!!! Go take a peek...I LOVE the little shrines and boxes. And the quilted hearts...perfect for a Valentine to someone special! And of course, TIM HOLTZ Idea-ology pieces!!!

Tessa is Here!

This is another image from Paper Imagery Designs. Isn't she wonderful?!?!? And I LOVE the background.

The house is Collections and Maya Road Cherry Blossoms and Birds with Distress Inks help adorn the sides. I ran some metal through the Cuttlebug on the bird's wing and a touch of Alcohol ink makes him special. REALLY COOL!!!!

Thanks Maya Road for the flowers and birds, they were in my great prize package box!!!!!

Throw in a few stamps, a couple of rhinestones and she's done.

Go Create something......I'm trying to figure out what to wear to "Wicked" tomorrow and waiting for DD to arrive!

Decorated Box with Vintaj

This little box has been painted black. The paper is the same kind that Tim's tags are made from....a manila paper. I used the Perfect Pearls in mini-misters with reinkers I made up from an earlier post with the star.....very cool.
~~
Then I used some distress inks on the edges and added Vintaj pieces to the top and sides. I added a cool closure using Tim's trailer hitch in the holes with a beaded latch. The hitch fit perfectly. If you're at CHA, just take a look!!!
~~
My daughter and I are going to Chicago to see Wicked on Saturday! Can't wait. A bit of shopping, lunch and a Broadway Musical. Sound like fun? We're pretty excited. And NO kids.....hers....are going. Just us. Should be a good time.

Another Vintaj Project

We've decided that if you have the opportunity to see the whole project, maybe you will want to go see the whole booth for Vintaj at CHA....enticing you to look them up. Sounds right to me. This has Cloud9 rub ons, Cuttlebug embossing, chipboard and the Vintaj pieces.

They are a New Exhibitor in booth #2713....make sure you go take a look at the wonderful products they carry. They are too cool and sooooo fun to work with in Altered Art and jewelry. And if you love vintage, which I do.....you will love these pieces.

So here is the Baby Transparency complete. I personally hate sneak peeks and surprises and teases.............but that's just me. It's a childhood experience thing.

On another note....is anybody thinking about going to to Scrap St. Louis and haven't signed up yet????? Just talked to Aleta today from For Keeps Sake and she's really excited about the 2nd year for this great event. There's going to be TONS of things to do, classes, make and takes, dinners, shopping, and a crop night with Stephenie Hamen from Fiskars. She is terrific!!!

Jump over to the site and take a look....and sign up!!!

That's it for today....tomorrow I'll put up another project...and it's a bit different. Not a tease...........just a promise!

Avery - the entire piece

Getting ready to pack these things for shipping. Here's Avery in complete glory. This child is the cutest redhead. Can you imagine the personality? These old pictures are wonderful to try to think of how these little people lived long ago.

Thanks to Paper Imagery for the vintage photo and Vintaj for the brass. Don't forget to visit their booth at CHA. Collections chipboard and the Cuttlebug were used for the house elements. But the Graphic 45 papers are what really make this piece stand out. And not ONE stamp!!! Amazing!!!

It's time to CREATE something!

A Little Peek

The girls at Vintaj loved the transparency of the baby I had done a few months ago, so here's a peek at the one I did for them to take to CHA.

The metal on the sides is tape used in duct work run through the Cuttlebug. Thanks to Kelsey who reminded me of this neat trick. You accent with acrylic paint and rub off to give a very vintage look.

Sun is shining here today...a good day to make art!
